“Do whatever He tells you.” John 2:5
The Wedding at Cana depicts a story of intercession, obedience and great wonder.
We witnessed Mary’s sensitivity and concern to the groom and bride, such that whilst not the host of the celebration, she took it upon herself to approach her son. “They have no more wine (John 2:3)” she said. With this, Mary showed us how to pray, i.e., not dictating how God should answer our prayer but simply lifting our worries up to Him.
We witnessed Jesus, although seemingly unsure of the right timing, heeded to his mother’s prompting. We also saw the servants who, despite the absurdity of the idea, obeyed Jesus’ leading of filling the empty jars with water. Not only did they fill them, but filled them to the brim.
Intercession and complete obedience, these acts proved to be the catalysts to the very first miracle that Jesus performed. What followed after was unquestionable wonder and glory being revealed, and the disciples believed in him (John 2:11).
As believers of Christ, we are called to take part in great miracles. Couples for Christ embraces the invitation to OBEY AND WITNESS. Let us allow ourselves to be intercessors for the needy, spread the Good News and place our complete trust in Him, and we will be witnesses to God’s greatness and glory.
May God be praised!
